WHAT IS IT

TubeMachining is the brand-new CAD/CAM environment for tube cutting machine programming, developed by Eurosoft spa in close collaboration with Cutlite Penta Srl. Based on the Sync3D platform, this new solution is not just a CAM environment for tube cutting machine programming, but an optimal tool for every stage of the workflow: from quotation to dimensional adjustments, through joint definition and up to production management (customer orders / job orders / nesting).

JOINT INSERTION

Even though, in some cases, structure designs may include joints, these are most often defined by the manufacturer of the structure. In such cases, it is essential to have the ability to design the desired type of joint in a very simple and parametric way. TubeMachining performs this operation with ease, directly on the structure, by defining the tenon joint, the mortise joint, and entering the parameters only once (thus eliminating the possibility of errors). Within the synchronous environment, joints can be further modified while always keeping the mortise and tenon drawings linked together.

SYNCHRONOUS ENVIRONMENT

for editing STEP files
Whether the machine is used by a subcontractor or by a company producing its own items, the STEP files of the structures to be manufactured (or any other supported input format) may require modifications during production. The most common case, for tubes that are not simply circular, is the adjustment of the tube's fillet radii. Structures are designed assuming certain radii, which of course do not exactly match reality (not least due to production tolerances). With just a few clicks, global modifications can be made that would normally take hours—or even require a complete redesign of the structure from scratch.

AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION

While maintaining the option to operate manually, TubeMachining automatically recognizes cutting features in both straight cut and bevel cut modes. In straight cut mode, but in the presence of bevel profiles, it is possible to specify whether the machine should perform cuts that remove more material than necessary (material that will be added during subsequent welding operations) or less material (which must be removed before the assembly of the structure). In the vast majority of cases, automatic feature recognition makes it possible to achieve maximum efficiency in generating the CAM files for the machine.

The algorithms specifically developed for TubeMachining enable immediate generation of the cutting texture, with no margin for error, even on highly complex designs.

SIMULATION ENVIRONMENT

Fully integrated into the Sync3D interface, the simulation serves as an indispensable tool for initially understanding the programming environment and, in later stages, as a crucial tool for verifying the accuracy of the generated programs—especially within the dynamic collision control environment, which is essential for programming special profiles.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

Entering an entire tube structure as a production order is made extremely simple thanks to automatic feature recognition. TubeMachining also allows nesting across different job orders, effectively optimizing production. Moreover, TubeMachining is fully integrated with the Revolution 4.0 system for accurate tracking of work times and for potential connection to company ERP systems.

TECHNOLOGICAL DATABASE

TubeMachining speaks the same language as the machine. The integrated technological database enables a rapid setup of TubeMachining in the production environment, thereby eliminating the tedious and costly commissioning times typically required for software of this kind.
